Facing an error that says “Account Type: Value in the field does not match with the data type supported by us.” while importing chart of accounts into Zoho Books. How do I proceed?

This error occurs when the account type in your import file does not match the account type in Zoho Books. To check the account types in Zoho Books:

  • Login to your Zoho Books organisation and then go to Accountant on the left side bar.
  • Select Chart of Accounts and the click + New Account.
  • You can check the list of options displayed in the Account Type field.

You can update the account type field in your file and continue to import. You can also manually add the account in Zoho Books with the available account types.

Notes: Currently, you can add a new account with the available account types in Zoho Books but not a new account type.
