# What happens to the data in my Zoho Books organisation if I cancel my subscription?

Your data will remain in Zoho Books even after you cancel your subscription. However, you will only be able to view the data, and you cannot modify it.

Before canceling your subscription, you can either [export](https://www.zoho.com/books/help/import-export/export.html) or [back up](https://www.zoho.com/books/help/import-export/backup-your-data.html) the data in your Zoho Books organisation.

**Warning:** If your Zoho Books account remains inactive for more than 120 days, the data in your account will be permanently deleted in accordance with our [Inactive user accounts policy](https://www.zoho.com/terms.html). Ensure that you access your account at least once every 120 days to keep your data intact.
