Audit Trail

An audit trail is a sequential, timestamped record of all the actions that are performed on a transaction or financial data. It is used to identify the source of a transaction as well as trace the changes made to it.

In many countries, it is a regulatory requirement to maintain an audit trail of accounting transactions. During an audit, auditors use the audit trail report to identify any fraud and validate the accuracy of the transactions and financial data.

Zoho Books tracks every user action and provides the option to compare different versions of the transaction or financial data.
