# I want to change a subscription that never expires to expire after a specified number of billing cycles. How do I do this?

You will be able to do this using Zoho Billing’s [Update a Subscription](/billing/api/v1/#Subscriptions_Update_a_subscription) API. Pass a number as the value for the `billing_cycles` node in this API. The number you pass represents the number of billing cycles after which the subscription will expire.
