# Can I prevent customers from having the same display name in Zoho Billing?

Yes. The option to allow duplicate customer display names is enabled by default. However, you can enable it if you wish to do so. Here’s how:

*   Go to **Settings** > **Preferences**.
*   Navigate to the **Customers** tab.
*   Uncheck the **Allow duplicates for customer display name** option.
*   Click **Save**.

Now, you will be prevented from creating customers with the same display name in Zoho Billing.

**Note**: Customers with duplicate display names will still be allowed if they’re created automatically while signing up on the hosted payment pages.
