Install Zoho Assist Customer App with MDM configuration for Android devices
Mobile Device Management (MDM) enables seamless deployment of the Zoho Assist Customer app across multiple devices. This guide provides step-by-step instructions to configure and deploy the Zoho Assist Customer app using an MDM solution.
Requirements
MDM application to manage app deployment and bundle configurations
MDM solution that supports app configuration for iOS and Android (like ME MDM, Microsoft Intune, etc.)
Android 5.1 and later/above
Pre- deployment Guide:
Verify device enrolment :
Ensure that all target devices are enrolled in the MDM solution.
Confirm that the devices are connected to the network and can receive app configurations.
Check Play Store availability :
Ensure that the latest app version is selected for deployment.
Deployment
1. Enrolling your device
Log in to your MDM account.
Navigate to the Android device enrolment section.
Select Managed Google Play and complete the setup to link your Managed Google Play account with your MDM solution.
Choose the enrolment method (for example, corporate-owned devices or BYOD) based on your organization’s requirements.
2. Add the app for distribution
Go to the Apps section and choose the option to add or create a new app.
In the app type, select Managed Google Play app.
Search for the Zoho Assist Customer app and select it.
Sync or approve the app to make it available for distribution through your MDM.
3. Configure the app
Navigate to App configuration and create a new configuration profile.
Choose Managed devices as the assignment type.
Enter a policy name and select Android Enterprise as the platform.
Choose either Work Profile or Device Owner, depending on your enrolment setup.
Select the Zoho Assist Customer app as the targeted application.
Under configuration settings, add the required keys and values as listed below:

If you want to display the DND permission pop-up, change the value to true and enable the DND setting through the appropriate OEM-specific configuration in your MDM.
Assign the configuration policy to the required user or device groups.
4. Distribute the app
Ensure the device is enrolled and managed through your MDM solution.
Once enrolment is complete, the Zoho Assist Customer app will be pushed to the device automatically. The user must open the Zoho Assist Customer app at least once for automatic enrolment.
The app will be installed silently (if the device is corporate-owned) or require user approval to complete installation (in BYOD mode).
