Install Unattended Agent Using Distributor

To deploy unattended agents across devices connected to the same domain, you can use a Distributor.

Install the Unattended Agent on a device within your Active Directory environment that has reliable connectivity to the Domain Controller. After installation, configure this machine to operate as the Distributor Agent.

After setting up the distributor and validating the domain, all associated computers in the domain are automatically listed. You can then select the required devices and deploy the agent in bulk, making device enrollment faster and more efficient.

Set Up a Distributor

Navigate to Settings > Unattended Access > Deployment > Distributor in Zoho Assist.

If you do not have physical access to the device, share the installer link using one of the following options:

  • Click Copy: Share the link manually through chat or any other preferred communication channel.

  • Click Share: Send the link to the user by email. You can customize the email content and preview it before sending.

Once the shared link is opened, the installer can be downloaded and executed.

Alternatively, if you have physical access to the device, click Download to get the installer directly on the computer. After the application is installed and launched, the computer is automatically added to your unattended device list.

Note

You can also add multiple distributors for a domain based on your requirements.

  • After the installation is complete, click Setup Domain to validate the domain.

Set Up a Domain

Configure the domain where you want to discover devices.

  • Select the Distributor you set up earlier from the drop-down list.
  • Enter the following details:
    • Domain Name
    • Domain NetBIOS Name
    • FQDN (Fully Qualified Domain Name)
  • Specify the Domain Controller Name. It is recommended to use a host name instead of an IP address.
  • Enter the Admin Username. Use a domain or organizational user account with administrative privileges, and do not prefix the username with the domain name.
  • Enter the Password, then click Proceed to validate the domain.

Add Computers

After the domain is successfully validated, you can add computers from that domain in Zoho Assist.

  • All computers in the domain are displayed by default. You can use the filters to refine the list.
  • To select all devices in the domain, click Select All.
  • Click Deploy Now to install the unattended access agent on the selected remote computers immediately.
  • To add the selected devices to the managed devices list and deploy them later, click Add and Deploy Later.
Note

This option only adds the computers to the device list on the Manage Devices page. To install the agent later, navigate to Unattended Access >Deployment > Manage Devices, hover to click the three-dot icon next to the device, and select Install. Once installed, the device will be listed under Unattended Access.

  • Once deployment is complete, the devices will appear under the Unattended Access tab. Click Connect to access the remote computer.
