Web Client Technician Console

Web Client is a browser-based technician console. It involves zero installation to start a session. It enables technicians to access the remote customer's computer quickly and supports both Mac and Windows.

The functionalities are categorized under the following sections:

View

  • Actual Size: Displays the remote screen at its original dimensions.
  • Full Screen: Expands the remote screen to fill the console window.
  • Show Remote Cursor: Shows the customer’s cursor during a session. Both your and customer cursor will be visible during the session
  • Color Quality: Adjusts how the remote screen is rendered. You can choose from 100%, 75%, 50%, or 25%. Selecting Automatic optimizes color quality based on your internet speed (available only on Windows).
  • Screen Resolution: Lets you choose how the remote screen is displayed. Multiple resolution options are available in the dropdown. Selecting Actual Resolution shows the screen in its original resolution.

     

Session

Invite Technician: Invite a secondary technician from within or outside your organization to assist during an active session

Share My Screen: Share your screen with the customer to demonstrate processes, workflows or software usage.

Send Alt+Tab: Allows technicians to switch between applications on the remote device. (Cmd+Tab for Mac).

Send Clipboard Keystrokes: Send Clipboard Keystrokes allows technicians to paste copied content, including passwords, into login fields on the remote device during an active session.

Send Ctrl+Alt+Del: Send this Windows key combination to access security options such as Task Manager or log off actions on the remote system.

Elevate To Admin Mode: Enables Zoho Assist to run with administrator privileges on the remote computer allowing you to view and respond to UAC prompts.

Short Keys: Access commonly used keyboard shortcuts directly from the console. For complex combinations, you can use built-in shortcuts

  • Windows: Ctrl, Shift, Windows combinations
  • Linux: Ctrl and Alt combinations
  • MacOS: Cmd and Ctrl combinations

Setup Unattended Access: Allows you to configure devices for unattended remote access directly during a live remote session.

Network Statistics: View real-time network performance details to assess connection stability and quality.

Disable Input Devices: Locks out the remote keyboard and mouse during a session (only for windows and mac remote OS).

Remote Audio: Let's technician to listen to audio from a remote computer during the session.

Blacken Screen: Hide the customer’s remote screen to protect sensitive information. The customer can revoke this at any time using Ctrl + Alt + Delete (Windows and macOS only).

Clipboard Sync: Sync clipboard content between your computer and the remote device.

Virtual Monitor: Create an additional virtual display during unattended sessions to improve visibility on headless or single-monitor remote devices.

Diagnostics

You can perform certain system diagnostic operations such as opening the command prompt, accessing the task manager and device manager, and viewing the status of the groups, hardware, printers, services, software, and users associated with the computer.

Power Options

Windows

  • Lock Screen: Lock the remote screen instantly or switch users.

  • Log Off: Log off the current user on the remote computer.

  • Reboot: Restart the remote computer when required.

  • Reboot in Safe Mode: Troubleshoot remotely in safe mode; system reconnects automatically.

  • Shutdown: Turn off the remote computer from the console.

Mac

  • Lock Screen: Lock the remote screen instantly or switch users.

  • Reboot: Restart the remote computer when required.

  • Shutdown: Turn off the remote computer from the console.

Quick Launch

Quick Launch provides shortcuts to navigate through the remote computer quickly. You can manage files, uninstall software, access system tools, and more.

Administrator Tasks (Windows only)

Perform administrative tasks on the remote computer such as cleaning up the disk, scheduling tasks, and updating group policies directly from the technician console.

Chat

During the session, you can communicate with the remote customers using the built-in chat window to guide them through installations or troubleshooting steps.

You can choose from the following communication modes:

  • Text Chat: Exchange messages in real time.
  • Voice Chat: Communicate with customers using audio during the session.
  • Video Chat: Connect face-to-face with customers via video calls.

     

Files

Use this feature to transfer files or patches to and from the remote computer. You can drag and drop files, view transfer progress, and send or receive documents efficiently.

Additional Tools:

From the left-side panel, click to expand the section. In addition to the chat window, you can access the following tools during a session:

  • Multi-Monitor Navigation: Switch views or manage how the remote screen is displayed. Access, control, and manage multiple monitors connected to the remote computer. Enable notifications, view live previews, and switch between horizontal, vertical, or grid layouts.

  • Session Notes: Add and review notes related to the session.

  • Session Details: View key information about the ongoing session.
