The company

Ilara Health equips a network of small health care providers with life-saving and essential diagnostic tools, to improve the quality of medical care in Sub-Saharan Africa. A key problem they solve for these clinics is the lack of accessibility to traditional financing typically used by SMEs to support their growth. The clinics are then able to develop their businesses and offer quality health care through revenue-generating diagnostic assets.

Their proprietary software integrates all the devices that they distribute and enables doctors to provide more effective patient management.

The challenge

Sameer Afzal Farooqi, Co-founder and Chief Operations Officer of Ilara Health, wanted a more sophisticated way to visualize their data, as well as a tool that could be integrated with multiple applications without any hassle.

As a health care provider, they had data coming in from multiple sources, like Zoho Subscriptions, Zoho Inventory, and Hubspot CRM. They had to prepare monthly reports on sales, customer churn, productivity, payment history, invoices, and much more.

The company was using Google Data Studio to prepare these reports, but they found it hard to write queries and build query tables.

Though they were able to bring in data from different sources, they weren't able to access that data in database format.

Ilara Health wanted a solution that could:

  • Enable quick creation of query tables for filtering datasets, and batching datasets together
  • Integrate with multiple apps without any hassle
  • Enable slicing and dicing of data

"We wanted a little more sophistication in terms of how we can view our data, and we wanted to collate data from multiple sources. The limitation in Google Data Studio is that it's not easy to write queries in it, to build your own query tables, and to do your own slicing and dicing of data. But Zoho Analytics made this a lot easier."

The solution

As Sameer wanted an easier way to build query tables and add more sophistication in terms of integrating his apps, he started his search for an advanced BI solution—and found out that Zoho Analytics was more efficient and easier to use.

Using Zoho Analytics's data connectivity options and built-in connectors, data from Zoho Subscriptions, Zoho Inventory, and Hubspot CRM were seamlessly integrated into Zoho Analytics, and reports were created within seconds.

Post Zoho Analytics, Sameer was able to effortlessly build the query tables he and his team needed. The scheduled email feature was very convenient too, since he wanted to share reports and dashboards with his colleagues on a regular basis.

Ilara Health uses Zoho Analytics for:

"Zoho Analytics has definitely saved us a lot of time spent making reports—creating them on a recurring basis from scratch, updating the new data, and then sending out the dashboards was tedious and time consuming. But now, with the dashboards created in Zoho Analytics, the real-time data gets auto-updated and emails can be scheduled. Altogether, this works really well for us."

Ilara Health uses Zoho Analytics as a single source of truth, thereby eliminating outlying discussions in important meetings and allowing them to directly funnel down to the topic at hand.

Zoho Analytics enabled them to prepare a wide variety of reports for various teams, including sales, customer support, operations, and collections. High-level business dashboards were prepared and get auto-updated with real-time data on a daily basis.

High-level dashboards are also shared with the management team, and other reports are shared with respective teams with Analytics' open view feature.
