# What does partially billed mean?

When your purchase order contains multiple items and you bill your vendor only for the items supplied, the status of the purchase order will change to **Partially Billed**.

Ex: You have 10 items in your purchase order and your vendor has supplied you only 5 items. You convert your purchase order into a bill for these 5 items, at this instance the purchase order will become partially billed.
