# How do I add the transaction number to the email alerts?

You can add transaction numbers like the quote or invoice number to the email alerts by inserting placeholders. Here’s how:

*   Go to **Settings** in the top right corner.
*   Select **Email Notifications** under _Reminders & Notification_.
*   Select a module for which the email alert is set up from the _Emails_ section.
*   Click **Show Mail Content**.
*   Click **Insert Placeholders**.
*   Select the transaction number of the module for which the email alert is set up as the placeholder.
*   Click **Save**.

Now, the transaction number will be added to the email alerts.
