Signing Up

Case 1: If you are new to Zoho

Getting started with Zoho Vault is a two-step process. First you need to register with Zoho by creating a Zoho account. Just click the "Sign Up" button in Zoho Vault website and proceed creating your account. A typical Zoho sign-up page will look like the one below. You need to provide email address and password to set up an account with Zoho.

Confirming Account Creation

Once you complete the sign up, you will be prompted to confirm the account creation. You need to click the verification mail sent to the email address given during account creation.

Sign in to Zoho Vault

If you click "Continue Sign In", the signup wizard will automatically lead you to the next step. In case, you have gone back to your mail box to confirm the account, you will be prompted to login to your Zoho account.

Organization Creation

The sign up wizard will automatically lead you to the next step. You will be prompted to provide your organization name.  This will create an exclusive space for your organization in Zoho Vault. If you want to use Zoho Vault for personal purpose, just enter your name as the organization name.

In the same page, you will have to create your 'passphrase;, which is the most important step. Zoho Vault will use this passphrase to encrypt your data at the browser.  Security of your data directly depends on the strength of the passphrase. Choose a long phrase. The passphrase will not be stored or transmitted anywhere. It should linger in your memory. Make sure the phrase is easy-to-remember for you, but hard to guess for others. The passphrase you create is case-sensitive. Everytime you try to access Zoho Vault, you need to supply the passphrase. If you forget your passphrase, there is no way to retrieve your data. Oonce you complete this step, you will be able to login to Zoho Vault.

Case 2: If you already have an account with Zoho

If you are the organization administrator for your account with Zoho, you will have to first sign in to your Zoho account. Then, you will be prompted to create your 'passphrase;, which is the most important step. Zoho Vault will use this passphrase to encrypt your data at the browser. Security of your data directly depends on the strength of the passphrase. Choose a long phrase. The passphrase will not be stored or transmitted anywhere. It should linger in your memory. Make sure the phrase is easy-to-remember for you, but hard to guess for others. The passphrase you create is case-sensitive. Everytime you try to access Zoho Vault, you need to supply the passphrase. If you forget your passphrase, there is no way to retrieve your data. Once you complete this step, you will be able to login to Zoho Vault.

If you are not the organization administrator, you will require an invitation to join Zoho Vault from your administrator.
