Version files

Store all versions of your crucial project documents with the notes, dates and the author information. Create and maintain multiple versions of a document with Zoho Projects.

Version Documents

To find a document version :

  1. In Home section, click Projects.
  2. In Projects list view, click the desired project to display its dashboard.
  3. Click Documents. By default, displays the list of files. 
  4. Hover over the version number of the desired document and then click Click to view Version Details. This displays the various versions of a document along with the description

Update Description

To update a description:

  1. In Home section, click Projects.
  2. In Projects list view, click the desired project to display its dashboard.
  3. Click Documents. By default, displays the list of files.
  4. Hover over the version number of the desired document and then click Click to view Version Details. This displays the various versions of a document along with the description.
  5. Hover over the desired file version and then click Edit.

  6. In Edit Description, modify the file description as required.
  7. Click Update to update the modified description.

 File description are useful to know the incremental changes / modifications done in the new version of the file.

Add / Show Comments

To add comments:

  1. In Home section, click Projects.
  2. In Projects list view, click the desired project to display its dashboard.
  3. Click Documents. By default, displays the list of files.
  4. Hover over the desired file to add comments and click Add Comment.

  5. Specify your comments and then click Add Comment to add the comments to the file. 

To show comments:

    1. In Home section, click Projects.
    2. In Projects list view, click the desired project to display its dashboard.
    3. Click Documents. By default, displays the list of files.
    4. Hover over the desired file to display its comments and click Show Comments.

Edit / Delete Comments

To edit a comment :

  1. In Home section, click Projects.
  2. In Projects list view, click the desired project to display its dashboard.
  3. Click Documents. By default, displays the list of files.
  4. Hover over the desired file and then click Show Comments.
  5. Hover over the displayed comments and then click Edit.

  6. Modify the comments as required and then click Update Comment to save the updated changes.

 To delete a comment :

  1. In Home section, click Projects.
  2. In Projects list view, click the desired project to display its dashboard.
  3. Click Documents. By default, displays the list of files.
  4. Hover over the desired file and then click Show Comments.
  5. Hover over the displayed comments and then click Delete.

  6. A warning message about deleting the document comment is displayed.
  7. Click OK to delete the document comment.

Note:

  • You can also edit and delete comments in the version history details page of the desired file. Hover over the version number of the file and then click Click to view Version Details to display the version history details page of the selected file.
