Associate with Tasks

Zoho Projects allows you to associate documents, forums, comments, add useful links etc for a task. Furthermore, there is an option to delete associated documents/forums and notes.

Associate Documents

You may fix some UI issues and need to associate documents to highlight the usability issues through various screen captures.

To associate documents:

  1. In HOME section, click Projects.
  2. In Projects list view, select  the desired project.
  3. Hover over Tasks & Milestones and then click Tasks from the displayed option.
  4. In Classic View, click to open the required task.
  5. Click the Documents tab.

  6. Click Associate Documents.

  7. In Folder, select the required folder.
  8. In Documents, select the required document.
  9. Click Associate Document(s), to associate the document.

Note :

  • The files uploaded in the Documents section will only be listed.

To upload a file directly to a task:

  1. In HOME section, click Projects.
  2. In Projects list view, select  the desired project.
  3. Hover over Tasks & Milestones and then click Tasks from the displayed option.
  4. In Classic View, click to open the required task.
  5. Click the Documents tab.

  6. Click Associate Documents.
  7. Select Click here to upload new document for this task.

  8. Click Browse to select the required file.
  9. In File Description, specify additional comments, if any.
  10. In File Tags, specify the required tag words for the file.
  11. In Select Folder, select the required folder.
  12. Click Upload File to upload the file.

To delete an associated document :

  1. In HOME section, click Projects.
  2. In Projects list view, select  the desired project.
  3. Hover over Tasks & Milestones and then click Tasks from the displayed option.
  4. In Classic View, click to open the task.
  5. Click the Documents tab.
  6. Hover over the attached file and then click Delete to delete the file.

Associate forums

You can associate forum messages to tasks based on your project needs.

To associate forums:

  1. In HOME section, click Projects.
  2. In Projects list view, select  the desired project.
  3. Hover over Tasks & Milestones and then click Tasks from the displayed option.
  4. In Classic View, click to open the task.
  5. Click the Forums tab.

  6. Click Associate Forums.

  7. In Category Name, select the required category.
  8. In Forums Title, select the required forum title.
  9. Click Associate Forum(s), to associate the forum.

To delete an associated forum :

  1. In HOME section, click Projects.
  2. In Projects list view, select  the desired project.
  3. Hover over Tasks & Milestones and then click Tasks from the displayed option.
  4. In Classic View, click to open the task.
  5. Click the Forums tab.
  6. Hover over the forum post and then click Delete to delete the forum.

Add / Edit and Delete Comments

If you wish to add some important comment for a task like providing some references, useful links, site urls etc then the Comments tab comes handy.

To add comments:

  1. In HOME section, click Projects.
  2. In Projects list view, select  the desired project.
  3. Hover over Tasks & Milestones and then click Tasks from the displayed option.
  4. In Classic View, click to open the task.
  5. Click the Comments tab.

  6. In the comment text box, specify the additional comments.
  7. Click Add Comment to add the comment.

To edit comments :

We've provided options to edit as well as delete comments added for a task.

  1. In HOME section, click Projects.
  2. In Projects list view, select  the desired project.
  3. Hover over Tasks & Milestones and then click Tasks from the displayed option.
  4. In Classic View, click to open the task.
  5. Click the Comments tab.
  6. Hover over the comment and then click Edit to edit the comment.

  7. Modify the required details.
  8. Click Update Comment to update the changes.

To delete comments:

  1. In HOME section, click Projects.
  2. In Projects list view, select  the desired project.
  3. Hover over Tasks & Milestones and then click Tasks from the displayed option.
  4. In Classic View, click to open the task.
  5. Click the Comments tab.
  6. Hover over the comment and then click Delete.
  7. A warning message about deleting the message is displayed.
  8. Click OK to delete the comment.
