I'm one of the Managers in my organization. Why am I unable to edit few fields in the Employee form of my team member's record.

You should have the field edit permission in order to edit the fields of your subordinates' form record. If it's disabled then you cannot edit those fields. Please contact your Super-Administrator or Administrator to enable the field edit permission. Learn more about permissions.

To enable the field level permission:

  1. Log in as Administrator.
  2. Click Setup > Permissions under Users & Permissions > Form Permissions.
  3. Select the form from the drop-down list.
  4. Click the respective role for which the permission has to be set.
  5. Click Edit under Field Permission.
  6. Click to enable Only his/her data or Subordinates & his/her data or Everyone's data or Allow edit according to the need.

Can I restrict role-based employees from importing/exporting, viewing and accessing specific forms?

Yes, you can restrict importing/exporting data using action permissions for role-based employees. To configure the action based permission:

  1. Log in as Administrator.
  2. Click Setup > Permissions under Users & Permissions > Form Permissions.
  3. Select the form from the drop-down list.
  4. Click the respective role for which the permission has to be set.
  5. Click Edit under Action Permission.
  6. Click to enable Import, Export and Embed Formsas required. Learn more about permissions.

You can restrict viewing and accessing specific forms using global access permissions for role-based employees.

  1. Log in as Administrator.
  2. Click Setup > Permissions under Users and Permissions > Global Access Permissions.
  3. Select the role from Assign permission for the role drop-down list.
  4. Click on the desired function and click on the icon to enable/disable permission. Learn more about global access permissions.

How do I hide the department tree & employee tree links for a particular role?

  1. Log in as Administrator.
  2. Click Setup > Permissions under Users and Permissions > Global Access Permissions.
  3. Select the role from Assign permission for the role drop-down list.
  4. Hover your mouse over the specific field and disable(click on the disable button) the department tree and employee tree. Learn more about global access permissions.
