Attachments Max size

Zoho Mail allows attachment files with size up to 20 MB or the size defined in the mail policy by your administrator. There can be multiple attachments to the mail but the total file size should be less than or equal to 20MB. There are options to attach file from the local system, Zoho Docs or even Google Docs. To attach a file follow the steps detailed below.

Steps to Attach Files

  1. Open the Message composer. (Click ‘Reply’ for replying an email with attachment or Click Compose for a new email).
  2. Click ‘Attach’, ‘Zoho Docs’, ‘Google Docs’
  3. If the file is in Zoho Docs or Google Docs, there is no need to download it to the desktop to attach it. The message can directly pick the attachment from the Zoho Docs file or Google Docs file as selected by the user.

To attach files from System:

  1. From the Attach option, click ‘Attach’.
  2. File chooser window for the local System appears.
  3. Select the file to be attached and click on the Open button.
  4. If you want to attach multiple files, select the multiple files* to be a attached and click on Open button.

To attach files from Zoho Docs:

  1. From the Attach option, Click ‘Zoho Docs’.
  2. File chooser window for Zoho Docs appears.
  3. The folders and the files linked to the account will be displayed.
  4. Select the files to be attached. Attaching from Zoho Docs supports multiple file attachments in a single step itself.
  5. After selecting the files, verify the file names in the top. After verifying, click OK.

To attach a file from Google Docs:

  1. From the Attach option, choose ‘Google Docs’.
  2. An alert page will open to Authenticate usage for the first time. Click Authenticate Google Docs. If you haven’t signed in, you will be requested to sign in to your Google Accounts before processing further requests.
  3. On successful authentication, File chooser window for Google Docs appears.
  4. The folders and the files linked to the Google account will be displayed.
  5. Select the files to be attached. Attaching from Google Docs supports multiple file attachments in a single step itself.
  6. After selecting the files, verify the file names in the top. After verifying, click OK.
  7. A box titled Attachments appear in the Composer. It lists the names of file attached with an option to delete them.
  8. Click on Send on completion of message editing.

Drag and drop from System*:

  1. Open the composer window.
  2. Choose the files to be attached.
  3. Drag them into the Composer window .
  4. A box with the text 'Drop files here' appears.
  5. Drop the mouse cursor inside the box.
  6. The files dropped get attached to the mail.

* The Attachment Drag and drop feature and attach multiple files feature are supported in the Firefox 3.6 and above, Chrome 6.0 and above only.

Note:

  • If the mail size exceeds the size defined by the mail policy, an alert will be displayed and the message will not be sent.
