Zoho Docs offers Workspace feature similar to folder sharing where you and your colleagues can all work on the same document and access it from anywhere. Create workspace for different projects and share it with your friends, team members, etc. It makes file sharing easy and provides a collaborative shared-workspace for documents.

In Zoho Docs Workspace, members can perform the following functionalities :

Share Workspace

Workspace can be loaded with multiple files, which can be easily shared with your friends, team members, etc. Members can view and edit the shared documents in real time, based on the permission set by the workspace owner.

Upload documents

Quickly upload multiple files of any format into your workspace, including ZIP and PDF, and share it with your friends, colleagues, etc.

Rate and Review the shared document

Rate and review option helps to measure the value of the document. This helps your members to read and express their choice, by rating the shared document. In addition, they can also add the document to their favorites list.

Check-in and Check-out Control

In Workspace, you can Check-in/Check-out the document, which helps the team in a collaborative environment to manage the files. It allows only one person to work on a file at a time, to prevent team members from overwriting each other's changes.


Checking out a file means that you are locking it for editing.This allows you to work on a file without worrying about others modifying it. Also, it will show who has the file checked out. That way, everybody knows who is working on it.


Checking-In a file means that you are uploading the modified file to the document management system and it is now available for edit by other shared users. This is done after you have checked it out and made your changes. You can comment what changes you made to it, when you check it back in. Then, other shared users can see the history of changes made to the document.
