LinkedIn Integration

With the LinkedIn integration, you can access the customer information from within Zoho CRM and gain customer intelligence that is required before you contact a person. It enables you to associate LinkedIn profiles to your leads and contacts to gain insights on the various updates and new business opportunities.

Availability

Profile Permission Required: Users with the Social Integration permission in profile can access this feature.

Note

  • The LinkedIn Integration is available only for the Leads and Contacts module.
  • There is no limitation on the number of users who can access this feature.
  • Data from a LinkedIn profile will be available based on the connections and their account/data sharing settings.

Activate for Users

By default, this feature is activated for all the users with a system defined Administrator Profile. The administrator needs to enable this feature for users with other profiles.

You cannot edit the permissions of various other features in the Standard profile. So it cannot be activated for the users with a Standard profile. However, you can create profiles and enable the LinkedIn Integration for users. Please note, that the Profiles link will be available under Setup, only if you have more than one user in your Zoho CRM account.

To activate for users

  1. Click Setup > Users & Permissions > Profiles.
  2. In the Profiles page, click the Edit link for the profile for which you want to enable the LinkedIn Integration.
  3. Under General Permissions, select the Social Integration check box.

  4. Click Save.

Authenticate Yourself With LinkedIn

The first step is to authenticate yourself with your LinkedIn account credentials. This is a one-time authentication that every user has to perform to use this feature. If required, you can later revoke the authentication. See Also Deactivate LinkedIn Integration

Note

  • The LinkedIn account associated to the email and password used while authenticating, will be associated with your Zoho CRM account.
  • While authenticating, you can set the option to automatically revoke the access.

To authenticate yourself with LinkedIn

  2. From the list of leads/contacts, select a record.

  5. In the pop-up window, specify your LinkedIn Email and Password for authentication.

  6. Click the change link to set the option to revoke the authentication.
  7. Click Ok, I'll Allow It.

LinkedIn Data in Zoho CRM

From CRM, you can send private messages only to your 1st level contacts.

Important Note

While using this feature, at times you may not be able to perform certain actions and receive an alert message from Zoho, " We are not able to retrieve information from LinkedIn. You will not be able to perform this action for sometime. Please try again later. "

This is because you have reached the request limit set by LinkedIn. For social networks like Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter, there is a regulated limit that is re-set every 24 hours. Activities that involve regulated limits are:

  • Searching LinkedIn profiles
  • Sending private messages
  • Sending invitations
  • Getting network updates
  • Viewing profile details

Remove LinkedIn Profile Association

When you do not want the LinkedIn profile to be associated to a lead/contact, you can disassociate them. Later, if required, you can again associate the profile to the lead/contact.

To remove a LinkedIn profile association

  1. Click the Lead/Contacts tab.
  2. From the list of lead/contacts, select a record for which you want to disassociate the LinkedIn profile.
  3. In the Lead/Contact Details page, click (LinkedIn icon)
The associated LinkedIn profiles will be available.

  4. Click Disassociate.

Deactivate LinkedIn Integration

When you no longer want to use the LinkedIn Integration, you can revoke the authentication and deactivate the integration.

To deactivate LinkedIn integration

  1. Sign in to your LinkedIn account.
  2. Go to the LinkedIn Settings, and click Groups, Companies & Applications.

  3. Under Applications, click View your applications.
