Zoho Calendar on your mobile

We enable you to access your calendars even on your mobile phones. Use a Mobile Web Browser on iphone, android, blackberry, windows phone and nokia smart phones to access Zoho services. You can view your calendars in, both Day and Month views, and add new events as well. Smart Add feature too is supported on mobile. Are you having a different mobile from the ones mentioned above? Offline access!

With Zoho Calendar's Offline capability, you can now access your events sans the net! In order to enable this feature, your browser requires an additional add-on called "Gears". This gears is available for free, and can be downloaded.

Here is how to set up offline:

Step 1: Install Gears

Follow the steps to activate your gears if you don't have it already installed on your browser.

• Click on the "Setup Offline" link on your calendar page, and a small dialog box as in the image below will appear.
• Click on "Download and Install Google Gears" and you will be redirected to a page to install gears. The download begins when you click on "Install Gears".
• Before downloading, you will be prompted to agree to the terms and conditions which are customary.
• Once you agree to it, you have to specify a location on your hard disk to save the installation file. For convenience, you can assign the desktop as the location.
• On completion of the download, you need to run the set up by double clicking on the executable file that was downloaded. During installation, you will see a progressive green bar. This indicates the status of the installation. For the changes to take effect, save all the tabs on your browser, and restart the browser.

Step 2: Gears Security Warning

In the first instance of going offline with calendar, this warning will be displayed. Click on the check box "I trust this site. Allow..." Only then the Allow button will become enabled. Click on the Allow button to save the configuration so that you are not prompted to enable this every time you go offline.

Step 3: Reset/remove the offline settings

If you do not intend to use the offline option on your computer any more, you can disable it as easily as you enabled it.

• Click on "Offline Options"
• Select "Offline Settings".
• Click on the "Remove Offline Setup from this Computer" option.

Step 4: Synchronization

Zoho Calendar downloads 6 months' events. Downloads are made from previous month, current month and next 4 months. When you are connected to the network, your online changes are synchronized locally and new events are downloaded.

There are certain operations that are not as yet possible when you are working offline. Some of them include changing your settings, creating events, calendar, etc. These options are disabled when working offline.

Step 5: Offline Settings

Click on "Setup Offline" to see a dialog box pop up. The offline settings options provided are,

• Create a desktop icon of Zoho Calendar Offline for easy access.
• Click on "Setup Offline" to complete the process. The set up might take a few minutes.

Zoho Gadgets

These gadgets can be embedded into your website, social networking sites such as Orkut and Facebook, and even on your iGoogle home page. Certain applications like Gmail, Blogspot, MySpace. etc., support OpenSocial XML, which can accommodate our gadgets too. Once embedded into your most frequently visited social sites, you will be able to access our applications even without having to open a separate browser window. Zoho Business

Zoho Calendar has also been integrated with Zoho Business. This allows you to view your calendars from Zoho Business itself. This comes handy when you work across multiple applications with Zoho Business as your access portal. You can perform any function on the calendar within Zoho Business as you would do on Zoho Calendar, and it will be updated instantly.
