Towards Search 2.0

Hackers & the SEO community have to large extent manipulated the results of Google-Yahoo-MSN's (GYM) algorithm-based Search 1.0 engines. And that leads to undesirable results like Google bombing, spam, more importance towards older sites etc.

Time based search (like Google Blog Search, Feedster, Technorati etc) offers a good alternative but its restricted to blogs & some frequently updated blog-like sites alone. I like MSN's start.com as it offers a tabbed search from the Web & from the News/Feeds sections. But I would like to have a 3-in-1, Web-News-Tags based search. With Yahoo acquiring del.icio.us, the immensely popular social bookmarking site, we can expect something in this direction.

And the analogy question begs to be asked - Flickr : Riya as del.icio.us : ?? . There are many social bookmarking sites like spurl, furl, simpy, dots etc but my bet would be on blinklist.
